FIVE TIPS TO WRITE A GREAT CV

 

This forthcoming year may provide the opportunity to look for a new job, but is your CV good enough??. 

It is made known by Adecco Retail, that it takes 34 seconds for employer to decide whether a CV worth further consideration. Cliches,lies and typos are reason why people are not offered interview. So how do you craft the perfect CV?

BE RELEVANT.

     "The key to a great CV is helping you stand out. You need to present yourself well and you also need to ensure that the experience you're communicating is relevant to the job ", says David D'Souza, the membership director of the chartered institute of personnel and development . Look at the job description , and make sure it's clear why you'd be able to deliver in that role.

MIND YOUR LANGUAGE. 

     Avoid tired expression such as passionate, hardworking, team player, worker under pressure!

Use descriptive words that means something such as accountable, purpose. "Why were you there'?, What was the purpose??

PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS.

     It's hard to be positive about yourself because we tend to be quite humble, it's hard to read your CV like you're reading it for the first time. Show it to someone you trust ideally and can correct your mistakes and work on feedbacks.

BE BRIEF, CLEAR AND CONCISE.

     Be concise and don't be afraid to delete experience if not relevant to that role. "Broadly speaking people talk about the two pages limit, but it depends on the sector and seniority you're going for but, honestly, if you can keep it to two pages the recruiter will be delighted.

BE UPDATED.

     The world evolves everyday and changes goes around everytime. Always update your CV from the old formats to the latest formats by putting important informations first.
